In 1994, I, along with my wife, Melinda Shaw, and a dedicated group of parents, created the Puget Sound Community School, an independent school in Seattle for students in grades 6-12. I say the school’s product is to simply provide a loving environment, just like good parents do for their kids.
Over the years I’ve facilitated a lot of classes on the subject of kindness. In the last couple of years they started drawing international interest, which has been both exciting and a little daunting. In response, Melinda and I launched Kind Living, the latest in a series of collaborations about providing people, including ourselves, environments that inspire.
Melinda and I make our home in Seattle with our two daughters, Chloe and Ella. To see something I really love, go listen to the music of Scott Garred (stage name – Super XX Man) at this “Tiny Desk Concert.”
